Foster Field

Home to the Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team, Foster Field was established in 1982. The field was named for 1969 Kentucky Wesleyan alum K. Wayne Foster and his wife Cathy in 2006. Mr. Foster was a trustee in 2003 and also from 2005-2008. It is located in front of Steele Stadium on campus. KWC athletic officials and the facilities department used mops and grass killer to shape the diamond for the original field. In 2000, the softball field was reconstructed following damage from a tornado. More recently, the field has been upgraded with new stadium lights, a batting cage, and a new and improved scoreboard.

Steele Stadium

Steele Stadium has served as the home for the Panther football program since 2004. The facility seats 3,000 fans and includes a grandstand complete with chair back seating and ten skyboxes utilized by donors, sponsors and administrative staff. The playing surface, known as Independence Bank Field, is made from synthetic turf, which permits safe play in virtually any type of weather. Wesleyan competes in a total of 18 NCAA Division II sports. We are proud supporters of our scholar-athletes, and we love to cheer on our Panthers!

President's Home

Home to Wesleyan's thirty-fifth President, Dr. Thomas Mitzel, the President's House is host to many campus events and functions. Dr. Mitzel helps us encompass all that is "The Wesleyan Way" which is a learning and living foundation for everything we do at the College. "The Wesleyan Way" is the four principles of Honor, Support, Integrity and Love. He lives this mission by opening his home to students, faculty and staff. It's not just the President's house, it's a staple of our campus community and a place where all are welcome!

An alumni couple moved the columns to Owensboro to take part in our campus commencement ceremonies again in the 1980s. This state-of-the-art complex boasts a rubberized track which is easier on runners’ bodies, a specialized surface on the playing field that is designed for drainage, directional LED stadium lights that should not spill over into neighbor’s yards, and a press box which sits above a concession stand and restrooms in anticipation of regional and state events. The complex hosts home track meets, as well as potential KHSAA, Great Midwest Athletic Conference, and NCAA Division II post season events.

Minerva

A Wesleyan tradition was born in 1905 when the main College building in Winchester was destroyed by fire. One of the limestone ornaments that decorated the facade fell to earth, but remained intact. This bust of Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom, became a symbol of the KWC spirit. Today it is mounted in a prominent place on the Owensboro campus (in an open area between the administration building, faculty office building and Winchester Student Center) and it is a focal point for many Kentucky Wesleyan student activities. Just about every student who attends Kentucky Wesleyan joins in the biggest Minerva tradition of all — painting her in whatever color or design strikes your fancy. These painting expeditions usually occur under cover of darkness — sometimes more than once a night. The goal is to have your design on Minerva when the sun rises.

Yu Hak Hahn Center for the Sciences

The Yu Hak Hahn Center for the Sciences is a state of the art facility dedicated to the study of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. You will find students in laboratory settings, inquiring into lectures by professors or maybe even performing an experiment in the campus green house connected to the facility.
